Kim was surprised by the wonderful women of The Northeastern Federation of the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs (NACWC).

Kim was awarded the Vivien H. Hansbury Award for: Trailblazing A Path For Women In The Field Of Creative Arts.

Kim was nominated in the 2023 National Spoken Word Awards in the Community Service category.

Kim was awarded: 2023 DMV Business Award in the Arts & Entertainment category.

Kim was recognized as one of the 23 Astounding Women on the Move and Taking Prince William County to Higher Heights.

2022

Kim is the DMV Renaissance Awards 2022 Haikuist Of The Year


Trailblazing women in Prince William County, Virginia who are the first to serve in their respective positions were recognized. Kim was one of the honorees, March 2022.

The Old Dominion VA Chapter, The Links, Incorporated, hosted a virtual Women’s History Month Celebration called Lighting the Way to the Future.

Poet Laureate of Prince William County, Virginia Emerita

Kim is the First African American Poet Laureate for Prince William County, Manassas & Manassas Park, VA. She was Poet Laureate Oct. 2020- Oct. 2022. For more info click here.

2019 Southern Fried Haiku Champion

Southern Fried Poetry Slam is an annual poetry event celebrating and promoting spoken word. It is one of the largest Spoken Word and Performance Poetry tournaments in the world.  It is an exciting event that attracts individual spoken word poets and  poetry teams. Kim competed in the haiku competition. She made it to the finals in 2019 where she ultimately won.

Kim is the 2018 BPC Slam Champion

2017

Kim was a finalist in the Poet of the Year category
