Hi Conquers, I’m so happy you are here. My name is Kim B Miller. If you are on this page that means you read a fantastic book that I was honored to participate in.
You also know that I am a poet and I love writing haiku. I want you to understand fully what a haiku is so here’s a detailed explanation. Haiku originated in Japan (by the way there is no plural for haiku). When they were created they were only about nature and flowers. Also, each line has a particular meaning and it was based on moras not syllables. We don’t really have an equivalent to a mora so we use syllables.
Haiku are short poems that are only 3 lines.
The first line can only have 5 syllables
The second line can only have 7 syllables
The third line can only have 5 syllables.
That’s why they are called 5-7-5. So, what happened to haiku: well people changed them because they loved the idea of the structure but they did not want to limit the content. I know they sound like they are hard to write but it is fun to me. It sounds more complicated than it really is.
A “traditional” haiku is on nature and a “non-traditional” haiku can be on any subject.
In October 2020 Kim was crowned the Poet Laureate of PWC, VA.
Kim is the First African American Poet Laureate for PWC, VA.

The Story of Cleaner: Formula 409
We hear it all the time: “Why is it called Formula 409®?” First, let’s put the urban legends to rest. No, 409 is not the area code where the formula was first concocted, or the number of bacon strips consumed by the inventor that day. The Formula 409® name is actually a tribute to the tenacity of two young Detroit scientists hell-bent on formulating the greatest grease-cutting, dirt-destroying, bacteria cutting cleaner on the planet.
Thing is, creating the ultimate cleaner doesn’t just happen on the first try. And it didn’t happen on the 101st or the 301st either. It wasn’t until batch number 409 that they were finally satisfied. And so, the name stuck. Formula 409®. True story.Quoted directly from their website: https://www.formula409.com/about-us/formula-409/
More Mindset Mastery:
Change What You Call Your Goals
- They are not little or small
- They are not minor
- They are not “a little something to do”
- They are not sort of important
- They are not kinda special
- They are not just…….
Your goals are important. You don’t have to explain why they are important just do your best work.
Words have power. If you say: I just have this little thing I’m working on….You diminish yourself. Stop it! Your goals are relevant. Don’t belittle them. Smile when you talk about your goals.
