Kim presented a haiku lesson for over 1800 students via Zoom. This was her largest class.
Special thanks to poet/teacher Della M. Cayson for appreciating haiku as an poetic artform.

Kim performed at Prince William County’s Black History Program.


Ms. Boulden, Marsteller’s Teacher of the year and a great team from Marsteller Middle School – PWCS including their great principal Lisa Wagner had a inspirational Black History program/coffee house and showcase.
Kim was honored to perform and the student performers were excellent!
“Tomorrows Cultivating Youth Inc.” is a fantastic organization. They had an event for girls: the 2nd Annual “Sit and Chat” All Girls Mental Health Workshop. It was tea themed and beautifully decorated. Traci Ali is the visionary of this organization. Kim was one of the facilitators.

University of Pikeville in Kentucky had their 2nd Annual Night of Cultural Excellence.
Kim performed poems and haiku.





Heritage Village Project presented Honoring Our Legacy Through The Arts
It was a night of inspiration. Kim performed poetry and spoke about being toxic.





March

Kim was a speaker at the Prince William County NAACP Youth Council.

Kim facilitated a Writing to Wellness class. This class was created by C. Thomas.

Kim was the featured at the Empowering Womxn of Color Open Mic at La Pena in California.



Kim facilitated a workshop at the 38th Annual Empowering Womxn of Color Conference at The University of California, Berkeley.


Kim performed at Bard HS & Early College DC. Kim also facilitated a workshop on expressing imagery and writing haiku.
Kim was featured online at Triumph The Church of the New Age – International.


Kim was a speaker on journaling and mental health at the Renewed Spirit Women’s Brunch at New Life Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Gaithersburg, MD.

Kim presented at the Night of the Arts, Journey to Success.

Kim facilitated a blackout poetry workshop at Manassas Park City Library.


Kim is the host every 3rd Monday of Speak Into Existence Open Mic.

Kim presented at the annual Pregnant and Parenting Students Conference hosted by Northern Virginia Community College. Kim is a proud NVCC alumna.

Kim was honored to be the special guest performer at the 40th Annual Area 2 Conference for the Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. (500 people in attendance)



Kim’s poem “We Write” was included in Tishomingo Arts Council’s Smartphone Recital Series where Poets Laureate from across the nation, recite their work from the comfort of their homes. Watch the video here:
Kim was awarded a 2023 DMV Business Award in the Arts & Entertainment category.

Kim performed poetry for Northern Virginia Community College’s Virtual Conference: PREGNANT & PARENTING STUDENTS CONFERENCE 2023.

K [squared]² had an online show: The Creative May Give A Way.

Kim facilitated a workshop on writing and performing poetry that was sponsored by Bethel AME Church. This picture is of the adults in class, kids are not pictured.



Kim will be facilitated classes in person at Girls Global Academy in DC.
Kim was grateful to be included in PoetryCon. Hosted by Virginia Young Poet Zoe Brenner in person at Benton Middle School in Manassas, VA.

Kim marched in the Dumfries Juneteenth Parade. She also performed at the program after the parade. Thank you Mike Beaty for the pics.


Kim was a haiku judge at The 3rd Annual Manassas Bee Festival in person in Manassas.

July

The 2023 Youth and Young Adult Revival at Mount Zion Baptist Church of Triangle, Virginia was inspirational! The theme was: No Cap, Moving from Drifting to Shifting. Kim performed at the program.



Kim was a speaker at The Northeastern Federation conference of the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs (NACWC) at the Hyatt in Crystal City, VA.

Kim featured in person in Troy, New York at Poetic Vibe hosted by D. Colin.
